Step 1 — Download the Office 2013 Professional Plus installer

Step 2 — Open the .img file and install

A .img file works like a virtual DVD — Windows 10 and 11 open it natively, no extra software needed:

Locate the downloaded .img file in your Downloads folder.
Double-click it (or right-click → Mount). Windows mounts it as a virtual drive, which appears in File Explorer under “This PC”.

If double-clicking opens the file in another program instead of mounting it, right-click the .img file → Open with → Windows Explorer.

Open the mounted drive and run Setup.exe (right-click → Run as administrator for a smooth install).

Accept the license terms and follow the prompts Click on “Continue” button — installation takes a few minutes.

In this step you have two options here: “Install Now” or “Customize”. Clicking on the Install Now button will start the installation of Office 2010 on your Windows drive. If your Windows drive does not have enough free space (at least 4 GB for Professional Plus), click the Customize button to select another drive as the installation location

The Customize option also allows you to choose which Office applications to install. If you don’t want to install one or two Office applications from the suite, this is a good option. Finally, click the Install button to start the installation of the Office product.

When it completes, find Word or any other office app in your Start menu. You can then right-click the virtual drive in File Explorer and select Eject to unmount the image.

Step 3 — Activate with your product key

Launch Word 2013 from the Start menu.
